This one-semester class is a Core-40 requirement for the Indiana Department of Education. Even more importantly, however, every university requires freshmen to take a speech class. Having an introduction to public speaking in high school makes the university class less intimidating. Even if students do not continue with university studies, they cannot avoid public speaking in their lives. Will they ever make an announcement at church, sit through an interview for a job, work with a group of people? I seek to provide your student with the skills and comfort level that will allow him or her to do all these things.

I truly believe that writing is foundational for whatever path students plan to pursue after graduation. Without a doubt, strong writing skills will benefit your student more than almost any other class. Public speaking is that other class.
